My boyfriend is currently 18 years old. In January he will turn 19. He has no health insurance.We live in Texas. He's currently working/has his own income but still lives in his grandma's home. He started working making roughly about 250-300 every week, this has however only been for half the year before he was only making minimum wage. Should he get insurance from where he works? I read some forums online and it seems pretty heavy. Right now I am out of work and I am living on unemployment insurance. I can barely make payments using that. Anyway my car insurance is supposed to be cancelled this monday at 12:01A.M. standard time. I called them today to make a payment . But the local office is closed and the main office said they can't take anything less than the premium which is - $792.38. I can't pay that right now. That's out of the question. I want to be able to make the monthly payment on it so I won't get cancelled and get a lapse on my car insurance . What is a lapse and how will it affect me. because it seems like there is absolutely NO OTHER CHOICE , i have right now than to just wait for monday and call them to find out that it's cancelled and worse if they said , Since it's cancelled they can only accept the Whole Premium!! My new policy renewal date is from Oct 09 , 2010 to April 09, 2011 according to the id card But what happens if there is a lapse in my coverage? Can i be arrested or my license suspended because of this??

Replace Old Car Insurance or Go With a New Policy?

I just bought a new car and quoted Progressive about replacing my old car with the new one, seeing how much a difference the premium would be. It got a little high, to say the least. When I tried just going through adding a new vehicle alongside the old one, the premium was about what I paid on the old vehicle originally, only with comprehensive and collision added. I have been slowly building up my business and it's getting to the point where I have to either decide to quit my full-time job or stop developing my business. We live in Minnesota and I'm wondering if MinnesotaCare would be an option for us, at least to tide us over until I can afford to purchase health insurance or my boyfriend and I get married and my daughter and I can go on his plan. However, I did read that to qualify for MinnesotaCare you must not have had insurance for the last 4 months and that's not a gamble I want to take. My daughter is already on TEFRA (MN disability health insurance) so I am wondering if she was dropped from my plan if TEFRA would cover her 100 percent. My worry about that is if another group health plan wouldn't accept her pre-existing conditions going forward because she would be off a group plan for more than 62 days. Does anyone have any ideas about affordable health insurance options that I should look into? Or know more about the HIPAA laws? Renewing car insurance?

My car insurance is up for renewal in January and I have been looking quotes up on the internet. But when it asks for the period of licence held for I put 0 years as I passed my test in July but my car was insured in my name from january when I was on a provisional. I then put that I have 1 years no claims as I havn't claimed in the year that I've had the car insurance but it won't accept it as it says I can' have no claims that is greater than the period i've held my license for. So do I put that i've had my license for a year (which would include the provisional period) or do I put that I havn't got any no claims. Thank's in advance.

Car accident but driver isnt under my insurance?

Last month my boyfriend and I were driving and someone rear ended my car. I am insured under Mercury insurance and the car is owned under my moms name. My bf has his own insurance but not for my car. We were not at fault but I'm nervous about filing a claim with the insurance company cause he is not under my insurance and was driving my car.. A police report was filed.. But what will happen if I file a claim with Mercury insurance? Will I get charged or fined for letting someone that wasn't on my insurance drive my car? Or can I not file a claim to the other company cause he isn't insured under the car that was damaged ? and if I ask my representative from Mercury what will happen will she report me even if I don't file a claim for letting someone who isn't under our insurance drive the car?
